In Scotland aurora borealis is often very modest. I like the elf-like atmosphere with the many stars.

Conjunction of Saturn and Jupiter
It got a lot of media attention, but doesn't look spectacular at all. However it is special to know the two "stars" are actually planets. I like the picture because it includes the crescent moon and the sunset.
