Haute quisine in fish-and-chips shop
While waiting in Ullapool for the ferry to Lewis, Tor and I found a fish-and-chips shop that served lobster of outstanding quality. Tor's choice of beer reflects our recent mountain adventure.
First breakfast on Harris
After arriving on Lewis we travveld down from Stornoway and found a camping site at Plocrapolnear Tarbert.
Self-portrait in camping loo
On reflection I realise I might have a morning temper from time to time!
On guard
While Tor was buying tweed garments, which took a long time, Tun guarded the store and I protected passers-by from the dog's vigilance!
Overview of the walk
Clisham on the far left and the entire intended ridge walk to the right. In the end we came back through the glen, a shortcut which proved quite tiring in itself due to the difficult terrain.
A cool bath
Halfway to the summit Tun enjoyed swimming in a lochan
Summit of An Cliseam (Rocky Hill)
The wind on the top was fierce and and cold and frequent clouds kept shrouding the views
An emergency shelter?
A bit of reading before sleep

Cooking dinner in a downpour
We parked at the standing stones of Calanais and had our dinner in the marquee of the deserted restaurant while the rain was rattling on the roof.
