The first time ever I managed to take pictures of grouse fleeing before our approach. I had to crop the picture considerably, because I don't normally carry my heavy tele lens on a mountain walk.

    Carn Eilrig

Carn Eilrig, the lower mountain that Jonathan often chooses for the Boxing Day walk. We always ascend on the west side (in view), go down the other side, descending into the Lairig Ghru, and then ford the Allt Druidh. Higher up on the slope on the other side is a path that leads us back to the Whitewell farm, our point of departure.
